Faximum Announces Major OEM Deal with Sun Microsystems
San Francisco, CA - March 23, 1994 - Faximum
Software Inc. announced at the UniForum'94 exhibition today that
they have been selected by Sun Microsystems
to provide the fax software that will ship with Sun's new PCMCIA
modem.
"We at Faximum are proud to have been chosen by Sun to develop
this new fax product," said George Pajari, President of Faximum
Software. "Magazine reviews have consistently rated our fax product
as the best and it was a special honour to have a company such
as Sun select our technology."
The product, to be distributed and sold by Sun Microsystems,
is targeted at the new Sun Voyager portable workstation that was
recently announced. This machine has two PCMCIA slots capable
of supporting the modem and fax software.
"Faximum's existing fax products have capabilities not found
in any other product. These features led Sun to choose Faximum,"
said Carolanne Reynolds, Vice President of Faximum Software, "along
with confidence in our company and its engineering team."
Faximum will also be releasing its own version of the product
in May with support for a wide range of fax modems (both PCMCIA
and external).
Sun Microsystems is one of the largest vendors of UNIX workstations
and servers in the world with estimated 1993 UNIX revenues of
over US$3.5 billion.
Faximum was established in 1990 to develop and market UNIX fax
software. The products are distributed throughout North America
and in over a dozen countries around the world. Faximum has major
licensing agreements with a number of UNIX systems vendors including
