The newcovers Script

The script /opt/FAXserver/lib/newcovers allows you to customize some of the information on the sample cover sheets.

You have to be logged in as root (superuser) to run this script.

How the script works

1. Prompts you for the following information:
   • Company name
   • Address (up to four lines)
   • Company Telephone number
   • Company Fax number

2. Creates new versions of the cover sheet files in /opt/FAXserver/coversheet
3. Updates (or adds) the appropriate entries in the style database

You can enter any information you wish for the prompts, particularly for the first four lines. If you don't enter information for a particular line the script leaves the line blank on the cover sheet.

You can view the results by selecting the test a cover sheet option of the newcovers script.

To ensure that the proper CSI information is exchanged with any fax machined that call Faximum, you ought to configure the CSI for your system. See The Fax Line Database for information on how to do this.
