The Fax Line Database
The Fax Line database is maintained by the Faximum server.
It contains information about the individual fax lines that are
connected to the Faximum server system.
This database is set up as part of the Fax server
installation and configuration.
This database can either be edited by using the Faximum graphical
user interface (select the Database option of the Admin menu)
or by editing the files in the
/opt/FAXserver
/dev
directory.
Only the Fax System Administrator may examine or change these records,
which contain the following:
- Fax Line Names - provides each record in the database
with a unique identification.
- CSI - specifies the Called Subscriber Identification string
to be provided when calls are answered on this line. In conformance
with the ITU-T
T.30 standard, this string should only contain
digits and the plus ("+") symbol. See also, CSI and TSI Values.
This should contain the phone number of your "public" fax number
(the number you wish people to use when sending faxes to your site).
This an optional field, so it is
not
configured at installation.
- Device - Full pathname of the device to which the fax modem
is connected.
- Trunk Group Name - Name of the trunk group to which this line
belongs. There is no separate trunk group
database. A trunk group exists as a result of being
mentioned in a Trunk Group Name field. See also, Using the Tariff Database.
- Modem Init String - First string sent to the modem during initialization.
