Connection refused
- This message indicates that the (remote) Faximum
server system has no process listening to the requested port because
the service is not supported, the host has not started networking, or the
process serving the service has terminated.
Connection timed out
- The remote Faximum server system did not
answer within a specific time limit and the faxclient process gave up
trying to connect. There may be a problem with the configuration of the
client and server systems. Ask an FSA or your System Administrator
to help.
Connection reset by peer
- The Faximum server system's network
connection closed unexpectedly. This can be a random event, or it can be
due to any of several conditions. Your System Administrator will
need to evaluate the situation, possibly beginning with having a correct
configuration, determining that you attempted a correct series of
operations, and determining that the client and server systems are
functioning properly.
Host is down
- You may have attempted a connection to a Faximum
server system that is not functioning on your network. Contact your
System Administrator.
No route to host
- The remote Faximum server system could not be
reached because the client system does not know how to get there. In
most cases, The System Administrator should configure or run
gated(8) or route(8) to set up the routing.
