The User Database

The User database provides security. When you first install Faximum the permissions are "wide open" meaning that anyone with access to the server system can use Fax. It is important to determine a security policy for your site soon after you install Faximum.

It may be sufficient that all users who can use your fax server system be permitted access to the fax software. Or you may prefer to restrict access.

You establish security by adding a user account on the Faximum server. As soon as you set up one user account, the system only allows access to the following:

• Users that the FSA registers with the server.
• The users named fax and root.
